Collaborative Project
You are to work in groups of four to produce a 3-4
minute movie about World War II. You will use Windows Movie Maker, post your
finished product on YouTube, and give your teacher the link to your movie. By
the time our class is done with this project, we will house an excellent
student-created resource for others to learn about World War II.
During this project you will
learn to:
- work effectively and
respectfully with diverse teams
- exercise flexibility and
willingness to be helpful in making necessary compromises to accomplish
a common goal
- assume shared responsibility
for collaborative work, and value the individual contributions made by
each team member
- use Windows Movie Maker to
create a movie and post it to YouTube.
For this project you must:
- Form a group of four students.
- Determine which role each team
member will assume from the Collaborative
Project Roles handout.
- Decide upon the subject and
direction of the movie from the list provided below.
- Obtain approval from your
executive producer.
- Complete each step of the
research process as you did in your previous project.
The only difference is that your finished product will be a movie
and not an essay. (Please
note that your storyboard serves as the rough draft of your movie.)

Possible subjects and direction for the World War II Collaborative
Movie Project:
- The Nazi's use of propaganda helped them
- War is never a good solution
- Britain survived the London Blitz
- The attack on Pearl Harbor caused
- The key battles in the Pacific
- World War II effected women
- The bombing of Dresden caused/is evidence of
- The D-Day Invasion of Normandy was a remarkable attack
- The United States was justified in using the atomic bomb
- The Unites States was not justified in using the atomic bomb
Please note you are welcome to come up
with other subjects and directions, but that they must first be approved by
your teacher.
