Term 3 Collaborative Project

You are to work in groups of four to produce a 3-4 minute movie about World War II. You will use Windows Movie Maker, post your finished product on YouTube, and give your teacher the link to your movie.  By the time our class is done with this project, we will house an excellent student-created resource for others to learn about World War II.

During this project you will learn to:

  • work effectively and respectfully with diverse teams
  • exercise flexibility and willingness to be helpful in making necessary compromises to accomplish a common goal
  • assume shared responsibility for collaborative work, and value the individual contributions made by each team member
  • use Windows Movie Maker to create a movie and post it to YouTube.

For this project you must:

  • Form a group of four students.
  • Determine which role each team member will assume from the Collaborative Project Roles handout.
  • Decide upon the subject and direction of the movie from the list provided below.
  • Obtain approval from your executive producer.
  • Complete each step of the research process as you did in your previous project.  The only difference is that your finished product will be a movie and not an essay.  (Please note that your storyboard serves as the rough draft of your movie.)
